Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy involves the use of water to treat a variety of conditions. Water has some unique properties including the effects of buoyancy, causing decreased effects of gravity, and hydrostatic pressure.

Hydrotherapy allows you to exercise in a low impact, safe and controlled environment and can be used in the treatment of almost any musculoskeletal problem and pain. If you are unable to tolerate exercises on land, an exercise program in water may be also beneficial for you. Hydrotherapy can be intended for conditions such as arthritis, back pain, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, pre and post-surgery rehabilitation (shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle) and neurological injuries. Hydrotherapy can also be a way of maintaining your overall health and well-being.

Benefits for Hydrotherapy

  • Reduced pain and joint impact
  • Improved upper and lower limb strength
  • Improved general fitness, including cardiovascular fitness

  • Improved sleep
  • Improved balance
  • Improved function and range of movements
  • Improved circulation
